Devon Youth Theatre are superheroes

A new company of bright and talented people aged 13 to 18 are to become members of this years Devon Youth Theatre DYT. The group will take part in a week long DYT summer school this July in Exeter. Inspired by the theme superheroes the company will participate in a week of intensive devising and workshop activity . The company can expect to develop their practical and creative skills and confidence over the course of this unique programme of activity. The Company will perform work devised and developed by themselves, heroically tackling social and personal ideas and issues that they develop out of the superheroes concept. By working alongside the professional practitioners, who are each highly experienced and motivated in the art of collaborative working with young people, the Company will be empowered to fully realise their initial concepts in a final performance piece. The summer school and a weekend workshop, also in Exeter, will result in two performances at Isca College of Media Arts on 20 July and The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington on Tuesday 24 July.
