Sat 27 Sep Creative Futures: So You Want To Be An Artist? If you have dreams of drawing or a passion for painting then join professional artist Jack Doyle for this hands-on creative workshop. It’s a not-to-be-missed chance to ask questions, learn practical tips and pick the brains of someone who’s been there and done it, as well as try out new and exciting approaches to making art. Please bring a packed lunch. Suitable for all levels aged 11-16. Times 10am – 5pm. Tickets £15 (£12 Salford residents)

Sat 27 Sep Rambert Youth Dance Workshop Rambert Dance Company lead a dance workshop for young people aged 14-18. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop their dance and choreographic skills through working with a professional dance artist. The workshop will include the chance to learn some of the repertoire from the Company’s new production of Eternal Light and is suitable for young people with some dance experience. Suitable for intermediate levels aged 13-18. Times 10am – 11.30am. Tickets £8 (£6 Salford residents & concessions).

Sat 4 Oct The Magic of Pop-Up Join paper engineer Paul Johnson as he shares the secrets of creating amazing pop-ups in this one-day course guaranteed to stretch your imagination! You’ll learn how to make pictures come alive by folding, cutting and sticking to create fantastic 3D structures that literally jump off the page. Once you’ve discovered the magic of pop-up, a simple piece of paper will never be the same again! Suitable for all levels aged 10-14. Times 10am – 4pm. Tickets £15 Free to Salford residents.

Fri 10 Oct Hofesh Shechter Workshop Day Members of Hofesh Shechter Company reveal some of the techniques behind the choreographer’s edgy style – as seen recently in Maxxie’s Dance for E4’s hit TV drama Skins. A focus on floor-work and dynamic fluid movement will allow participants to learn pieces from the current tour, while the energy of the work offers a great introduction to contemporary dance for both young male and female participants. Suitable for beginners aged 13-18. Times 11am – 3pm (with an hour for lunch) Tickets £10 (£8 Salford residents)

Mon 27 – Fri 31 Oct Young Theatre Makers This course offers young people the chance to devise a 10-15 minute play over the course of a week. Writer and performer Benji Reid will explore character, location, dialogue and structure, building on the knowledge and techniques necessary for any stage project. Each play then has a chance of being performed by National Youth Theatre actors during a showcase of new work in the region. For details on how to apply visit The Lowry website. Sat 8 Nov Creative Futures: So You Want To Direct? If you have a interest in being a Theatre Director, this fun one-day course will give you an insight into the world of the stage. This practical day will explore career paths and approaches to directing theatre. Suitable for beginners aged 11-16. Times 10am – 5pm. Tickets £15 (£12 Salford residents)

Wed 26 Nov Fireflies - Page to Stage This page to stage workshop focuses on the process for creating the production, it uses multi-media and text, and the writer’s creative process. Suitable for beginners & intermediate levels aged 14+. Times 12.30pm – 1.30pm. Tickets £2
