Goldsmiths College MA Filmmaking students are looking for actors or/and non-actors to work their final graduation short film “Coming back”, which will be shot on super 16mm and will premiere at the Curzon Soho cinema, in Feb 2009.
‘Coming Back’ explores the uncertainty and fragility of adolescent identity as it unravels the relationship between two teenage gay lovers, Steve and Jamie. Click here for more information about the film.
The shoot will take place over 7 days between 30th September and 12th October 2008 (Exact dates will be confirmed later) around South East and South West of London (within zone 2). Chosen actors will be required to attend the one-day test shoot on Thursday 11th September.
Since this is a student project, we are unable to pay a fee. But lunch and travel expenses (provided that it is public transport) will be covered on production days. You will receive a DVD copy of the finished film and will also be invited to the premiere at Curzon Soho.
The audition will take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September in Goldsmiths College, New Cross, London. You don’t have to be a professionally trained actor or have any previous acting experience. Please email us your photographs and your acting CV (or a short description of yourself) to book a place in our audition. We look forward to hearing from you . Email Mercy Liao (producer)
We are currently looking for the 2 lead actors:
STEVE- 17 year old, male
A lively, bright boy who worries about his family finding out he is gay. He is atheletic and conventionally handsome. Following a brutal accident Steve claims to be someone else; a 30 year old school teacher named Rowan.
JAMIE-17 year old, male
More comfortable with his sexuality than Steve, Jamie is a natural performer and chameleon. He dresses like Patrick Wolf, and is unpredictable and adventurous.
