West Lothian Youth Theatre becomes Firefly Arts

Firefly Arts Limited is the new name of West Lothian Youth Theatre, registered with Companies House and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator as of 25 August 2008. This re-branding is the result of an eighteen month period of review and consultation, triggered by the fact that the company now works much more widely than just West Lothian, and is engaged in more art-forms than simply youth theatre. Firefly will deliver three main strands of work: Firefly Youth Theatres; Firefly Films and New Media; Firefly Education.
Each of these represents an area of potential growth, and plans for the development of all three areas of work will be published in their 2008 – 2011 Business Plan in September. Firefly is particularly grateful to Abigail Carney and Janet Sylvester of Scotinform who together guided them through the consultation period; and to Helen Livingston and her colleagues at Branding Boutique who worked with them to produce the new brand name and images.
