Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Introduction courses in Acting, Musical Theatre or Street Dance
11th Jan – 22nd March 2010; Monday nights 7pm – 8:30pm; £150 per term
These short 10 week courses introduce the student to a range of skills employed by the professional actor/performer.
Introduction to Acting – The course will introduce the student to a range of skills including improvisation, devising, character, approaches to text and vocal skills. Classes are a friendly and relaxed insight into the actor’s rehearsal technique.
Introduction to Musical Theatre – 10 sessions of dance, singing and performance technique for students wishing to take the first lessons in Musical Theatre. A suitable course for someone with limited previous experience who wants to take the plunge in a safe environment.
Introduction to Street Dance – Street Dance originates from the United States funk scene of the 70’s and has evolved in schoolyards and nightclubs to become one of the most fashionable forms of dance and part of our modern day culture. The classes will be fun, energetic and certainly the place to enjoy yourself with the added bonus of improving your fitness and giving you the skill to impress your friends on the dance floor.
